Yarn Dyeing

I wanted to dye yarn with my knitting class, but since we hold class at the elementary school, boiling water and dye was out of the question.  I read some online posts about alternative ways to dye yarn and came up with this.

Fabric Spray Paint.

I went to Michaels and bought some Fabric Spray Paint.

20 yards of cotton yarn.

I measured out 20 yards for myself to try this method.  Then I measured out 20 yards for each of my students.

I used the spray bottles and liked the results.  I quickly realized that the spray does not permeate the yarn, so after it was dry, I turned it over and sprayed the other side.

Rinsed and dried.

This was the end result!  I know my students are going to love it!
