I really enjoy making hats – they knit or crochet up so quickly!  A friend of mine has a sister who organizes a fun run and one of the things they like to give out are hats to the finishers.  A couple of weeks ago my friend was asking our knitting group is any of us had a hat we would like to donate.  But of course!!!

Hats for a charity.

These are the hats I donated.  I like all of them (I didn’t give her the ones I thought were duds) and I’m happy that they are going to a good cause.

  1. I’m with you, it is so much fun to do a quick project like this, and there are so many worthy organizations that benefit!

    • I completely agree. When my youngest son had surgery years ago, the nurses gave him a bear to hold before and after. He loved that bear and it is still in residence on his bed 10 years later. I started making bears for the hospital at that time and now I make them and split between the hospital and the police department. The thought of one of my bears helping another child is very heartwarming.

  2. It would be so cool to get a homemade hat at the end of a run!

  3. Beautiful hats and a brilliant idea to give them away to the finishing runners 🙂

  4. What a great idea! A solid symbol of accomplishment, even if you come in last. I like it!

  5. That’s awesome! I’m donating little stuffed animals to a local hospital. I’ve also created a website for crocheters who donate to charity. It’s just a community for like minded individuals to interact, and I would be grateful if you could check it out! https://handcraftedhope.ning.com/
