Slow Stitch Sunday

If this blanket, the Mighty Rainbow Blanket, doesn’t qualify as a slooooow stitch, I don’t know what does!!  It doesn’t help that my daughter wanted it to fit her twin bed so we had to double it in length.img_5283

It’s almost there!  I am on the dark green and have four colors left – light green, yellow, orange and red.  When I started this blanket, I thought it would be sooo easy.  It’s all just garter stitch and I spend a LOT of time waiting for kids at lessons, practices and games.  Well…it got big and heavy quickly and was not conducive to sitting in the bleachers anywhere.  It is also quite a boring thing to knit.  Yes, I can knit while I watch TV or talk or something else, but it’s really not interesting.  My daughter loves it so I will continue on and finish – hopefully before she goes off to college!

I am linking up with Kathy’s Slow Stitch Sunday.  Take a look over there to see what others are doing.

  1. I had the same feeling when I knit this one. And I only did one set of colors!!

  2. Wow, that’s a big blanket! Isn’t it lovely when family ask us to make something for them. She will love every stitch you have knit!

    • Yes, I totally agree. This daughter is quite picky so I don’t just make her something (unlike daughter #2 who likes everything!). She picked this pattern and we bought the yarn that went with it. She its totally stocked that it’s almost done.

  3. Oh i bet it is quite heavy but your almost there. It looks cozy love all the color

  4. The finish line is in sight! This one is going to keep your daughter toasty warm and wrapped in lots of love.

  5. You are a brave woman, but now you are nearly done!!!!
