SAL Update – February & Slow Stitch Sunday

Lots of stitching time to show for this update.  This is where I was last time

And this is where I am now…img_5317

I am super pleased to have finished all of the stitching in the window pane and the header.img_5318I still have backstitching to do on Santa, but I feel he has started to come alive!img_5319And, I’m working on the back stitch on the rest of the top of this piece.  I found one error by the ribbon near the top.  A stitch I had completely missed.  I did take the time to fill it in.  I don’t think after the backstitching anyone would have noticed, but I would have seen it forever, every time I looked at this stocking!  The next three week update may not look all that different as my plan is to finish up the backstitching in this complete area.  Then I’ll move to the window pane next to Santa.

See below for details about the SAL and how to join as well as links to all the other fantastic stitchers who are also participating.

About the SAL

This SAL (Stitch Along) is slightly different to other SALs in that we don’t all stitch the same design at the same rate. We choose ONE unfinished project, or ONE new one, and show progress of its completion over a series of three weekly updates. There are no deadlines and no set amount to stitch. The result is that the space in our drawers full of WIPs (works in progress) is gradually being freed up to store lots of new crafty goodness. It’s surprising how much motivation I’ve gained from being in this SAL. If you’d like to finish a project you’ve left unfinished for a while, or start a new one with us, you can join us by leaving a request in the comments on Avis’ blog or sending her an email. The address is on the right of her page. She will send you a few simple rules to agree.
