I’m so excited to once again be participating in the SAL over at Avis’! It has been a long time since I have worked on my own projects and I’m really enjoying the time spent with non-studio things. Of course there are plenty of things going on in the studio, I’m just making space for a little bit of “me” time. Last time for the SAL I was working on a big Christmas stocking for my oldest son. That project is on time out!! I made a pretty big counting error and I have to rip A LOT. There are a few other smaller things that have been languishing in a “will do eventually” pile that have been pulled out. This:
was purchased quite awhile ago. It has been so nice to work on cross stitch again! This is what is looks like right now:

11/3/19 SAL Update – Gingerbread House #5.
I think this will be a very quick project as there is no backstitching. I love this SAL and am so happy to be back in the midst of this group of talented, welcoming and supportive stitchers. Please take a look a what everyone else is up to:

About the SAL
This SAL (Stitch Along) is slightly different to other SALs in that we don’t all stitch the same design at the same rate. We choose ONE unfinished project, or ONE new one, and show progress of its completion over a series of three weekly updates. There are no deadlines and no set amount to stitch. The result is that the space in our drawers full of WIPs (works in progress) is gradually being freed up to store lots of new crafty goodness. It’s surprising how much motivation I’ve gained from being in this SAL. If you’d like to finish a project you’ve left unfinished for a while, or start a new one with us, you can join us by sending Avis an email. The address is on the right of her page. She wil send you a few simple rules to agree.
I’m also linking up with Slow Stitch Sunday and One Monthly Goal. My goal for this month is to finish the stitching on this piece. It feels like such a quick stitch!
Hi Connie – it’s so nice to have you back! What a sweet Gingerbread house. Is this going to be a gift? Sharon
Thanks so much, Sharon! Yes, I have 7 different ones to give one to each of the kids, one to the oldest’s significant other and one to the hubby.
Love that gingerbread house, it is adorable. Can’t wait to see this one progressing!
Thanks!
Welcome back, Connie! Cute gingerbread house — it’s fun to work on smaller projects after working on big projects for so long.
Thanks so much! You are right, I am loving this smaller project.
Welcome back Connie! That gingerbread house is just too cute. What a great restart project for you!
Thanks so much, Kathy! It feels so good to be back stitching on personal projects.
What a cute little cross stitch! It is important to take some ‘me’ time. So glad you are.
Thank you!
That is an adorable stitchery… perfect to work on this time of year!
Thanks for linking up!
Thanks! Yes, I am enjoying this one very much.
Arrgh! So sorry about that counting error on the Christmas stocking. Definitely time for a break. 😉 The gingerbread house is a cute little project, perfect for such a break.
Thanks! Yes, it is frustrating about the bigger project. I’ll get back to it.
Welcome back! It’s so good to see you join us again and that Gingerbread project is a super cute start! I’m sorry to hear that you had a blip with your stocking project, it’s so frustrating when that happens but I’m sure you will get back to it when the time is right! Jenny xx
Thanks, Jenny! Yes, it is frustrating and I will get back to it. I just can’t do it right now.
Good choice, I always think we are stitching for pleasure so we should make sure to enjoy the process, no point pushing to do something that feels “blah” and there are so many projects to work on that we will never run out of options! 🙂
Great to see you back! That’s an excellent project to get you back into cross stitch. I love CCN’s designs. They’re always a pleasure to stitch.
Thanks!
Welcome back Connie! I love the little project. I am sorry you have to do a rip out on your other project though. 😦
Thanks so much! I’ll get back to it, I just need a little bit of time. I’m enjoying this new little one though.
