HQAL & Slow Stitch Sunday

I belong to a group called the Hand Quilt-A-Long run by Kathy.   We are to pick a project that we want to make progress and then update every three weeks.  This is my three week check-in on the Grandmother’s Flower Garden.img_9282

I finished the bee one from last week.  This still makes me so happy to look at!  As I sit here typing this up, it’s raining outside and our area is still practicing social distancing.  The flower above makes me think of spring, walking outside with friends, gathering for coffee and seeing my knitting and embroidery groups in person.  The thing I’m missing most right now… seeing my oldest daughter.  She lives in an apartment in another city.  We talk frequently, but don’t get to see each other (except on FaceTime)… I miss physically seeing her – and hugging her.  Hopefully soon!

I sewed up another one.  This one still needs the white hexis attached.img_9284

And started this little cutie!  I had started out making these only with flower fabrics, but seem to have branched out a little bit!

Please take some time to see what the other stitchers in our group are stitching:

I’m also linking up with Slow Stitch Sunday.

  1. Hi Connie~ Your fabric choices are spot on, the owls are adorable, making lemonade out of lemons with this virus with your hexi’s. This is going to be one gorgeous Grandmother’s Flower Garden. All of my children are in different states and none of us are together. It’s difficult 😦 Stay well and safe.

  2. Such pretty hexies… love your fabric choices! I miss my daughter and sister terribly, and can’t wait for this isolation to be over!

  3. I ❤️ those little owls! All this paper piecing is getting me revved up to do some, uh oh! It is hard to have the kids so far away. My two are in Montana, one was supposed to be coming home for a visit, and that got scrapped, so FaceTime it is.

  4. Love your hexies, especially the owls!

  5. Way to go Connie!! Your garden is blooming quite nicely❤️❤️❤️

  6. Your hexies are blooming with sunshine and colour. They are so pretty. Hopefully you can hug your precious daughter very soon. May you enjoy your week stitching those pretty flowers.

  7. Lovely flowers for your garden!❤️❤️

  8. I love that owl fabric! These looks grand!
